Dstny proud partner of Tour of Leuven on 7 August 2022
The fast-growing technology company Dstny will be supporting the new cycling race, the Tour of Leuven, for the next three years. Dstny recently joined the Lotto cycling team as a sponsor and will become the co-title sponsor of Lotto-Dstny next year. The company considers the Tour of Leuven a great initiative to revive the success of last year's World Cycling Championships and sees it as a great addition to further strengthen its presence in cycling.
Dstny aims to make corporate communication as easy and simple as possible for employees and customers to communicate with each other, today and in the future. In cycling and the Belgian Lotto cycling team, it has found the ideal partner to strengthen European brand awareness, generate trust and share their experience as a fast-growing company in order to keep improving as a team.
Joachim Lauwers, Managing Director Dstny Belgium: “We didn’t hesitate for long about Dstny helping to support this great initiative. Last year's World Cycling Championships in Leuven and the accompanying course were a real success and it’s fantastic that we can now turn this into an annual cycling festival. In addition to the race for the pros, there is Ride Leuven, a real cycling happening for families, Sunday cyclists and cycle tourists. I’ll be cycling in Ride Leuven myself, along with a number of Dstny employees, and I’m really looking forward to riding the World Championships course before the pro race and soaking up the atmosphere.”
The Lotto cycling team will obviously play an essential part, and with the unique green-blue colour and Dstny logo on their outfits and helmets, it will be easier for fans to spot the Lotto riders and cheer them on.
One of the crowd-pullers for the Tour of Leuven will undoubtedly be world champion Julian Alaphilippe. The Frenchman is returning to the place where he became world champion last year.
Julian Alaphilippe: “I’m really looking forward to this Tour of Leuven – Jef Scherens Memorial,” said the world champion. “It hasn’t been the easiest year for me so far, but returning to the course where I became world champion will be very special. That 26th September was a beautiful day. Huge crowds along the course and what an incredible noise! I will never forget it. It means a lot to me to be able to replay that day at the Tour of Leuven.”
About the Tour of Leuven
Leuven is not only a student city but since the Flanders World Championships 2021, it has also become a real cycling city. Naturally, an unforgettable World Championships in Leuven should be promoted every year. The city’s World Championships legacy and the well-known Grote Prijs Jef Scherens race will merge into the new legacy event: Tour of Leuven – Jef Scherens Memorial, on Sunday 7 August.
All recreational cyclists are also more than welcome at the Tour of Leuven on 7 August. Ride Leuven, a wonderful cycling happening in and around the city, is on the programme that day for cycling families, Sunday cyclists and cycle tourists. Participants will be able to cycle on a closed course of a total of 15 km, taking in all the well-known climbs and sections of last year's World Championships on the way. Afterwards, they can enjoy the professional race. For trained cyclists looking for that little bit extra, 70 and 110 km cycling tours are available.
