Voips

Brussels, 2 October 2020 - Cloud telecom player Destiny takes over the Dutch cloud communications company Voips B.V. from Gemert. This is the second acquisition by Destiny in 2020 in the Netherlands after acquiring Panas in July. It is part of Destiny's strategy to become a European leader in secure cloud communication solutions.

According to CEO Daan De Wever of Destiny, Voips has grown over the past seven years into an innovative and reputable provider of cloud communication solutions for SMEs and the large business market. "The Voips team has extensive expertise and an excellent reputation in cloud telephony, mobile telephony and internet services. Voips is a perfect addition to Destiny's previous acquisitions in the Netherlands over the past two years. In this way, we are once again strengthening our market position and product portfolio in the field of cloud communication in order to serve our partners and the large business market in the Netherlands even better," says Daan De Wever.

Voips will be fully integrated into Destiny while retaining its entire workforce. Founders Nils Nijhof and Jeroen Mulder of Voips will become part of the Destiny management team in the Netherlands. Voips' location in Gemert will be integrated into the branches that Destiny operates in the Netherlands.

"We are a young and ambitious team and we are used to change. As part of the Destiny Group, we are very happy to accelerate our ambition to grow and specialise,” says Nils Nijhof, co-founder of Voips. "We focus on the same services and products as Destiny and through this acquisition we will be able to offer our customers and partners a lot of added value across our entire portfolio in one go. To give an example: Our target group is asking for its own software developers, something that is now possible with Escaux's technology platform, which is also part of the Destiny Group.”

New Managing Director Netherlands

In order to manage Destiny's rapid expansion in the Netherlands, the company has appointed a new managing director for the Netherlands. Ed Smit (59) has extensive experience in the telecom sector. He started at KPN in the mid-1990s when the company embarked on its Belgian adventure. Smit was part of the management at the time. He then stayed on Belgian soil and held management positions at operators, governments and regulators, as well as large ICT projects. "My assignment is to integrate Destiny's five companies in the Netherlands, of which Voips is the most recent acquisition," says Smit. "They are all strong companies, each with its own specialisation. The merger creates a powerful proposition for the Dutch market. We are going to establish something beautiful here.”
