Destiny acquires Dutch OZMO cloud communications
Brussels, 18 June 2019 – Destiny – the Belgian provider of secure cloud communications solutions for innovative enterprises – has acquired the Dutch company OZMO cloud communications. OZMO specialises in cloud communications solutions for the SME market, which it offers through professional IT and telecoms partners. The company supports these partners with powerful commercial tools and operational services so that they can easily offer end customers a total cloud communications solution. With this acquisition, Destiny, as a challenger, is again strengthening its ambition to become a top three business provider in the Netherlands, having previously acquired Motto Communications – with its cloud distribution platform FLUX – and the business internet provider DSD Business Internet. With the commercial OZMO tools and services Destiny is also strengthening its offering to White Label partners and resellers seeking to offer simple bundled solutions quickly and easily.
The company’s ambition with this acquisition is to become a fully-fledged alternative to KPN EEN, with Destiny partners also being able to market their own solution under their own name. With this third acquisition in the Netherlands, Destiny now also has the building blocks to offer the entire Dutch market a total solution for secure cloud communications and thus become the alternative to RoutIT on the local market.
Serving the entire partner channel
Destiny took its first international step in 2018 with the acquisition of Motto Communications and since then has further expanded its position on the Dutch market in a focused manner. With Motto and its cloud distribution platform, FLUX, it is aiming mainly at large White Label partners who need fast, real-time provisioning of cloud services. With the acquisition of DSD Business Internet earlier this year it added connectivity to it via its own high-quality network. Smaller White Label partners and resellers tend to be on the lookout for simple, bundled solutions that are easy to explain to the customer. Daan de Wever, CEO of Destiny explains: “With the acquisition of OZMO we can now serve the entire partner channel better, including the segment of the many thousands of small White Label partners and resellers. Through the OZMO portal we can also offer them the necessary training and commercial support, in addition to a simple, predefined solution. They can also count on reliable delivery, excellent support and an attractive financial earner. In short, we are doing everything to make sure that they can offer cloud solutions as easily as possible.”
Total solution
Over the past few years, Destiny has also made a number of strategic acquisitions in Belgium to strengthen its services portfolio. The acquisition of IT101, for example, means it can offer a broad range of security options and the recent acquisition of Escaux brings with it patented technology for getting fixed and mobile devices to work together in a powerful way. “With the targeted acquisitions of recent years and OZMO as the provisional final piece, we now have all the technical components and building blocks in our portfolio to be able to offer a total solution for cloud services on the Dutch market, including connectivity, security, mobile and VOIP,” De Wever continues. “We are therefore glad of the challenge to become the alternative to RouteIT on the local market. And our ambition certainly doesn’t stop there. In the short term we are also looking forward to new acquisitions on the Dutch market, to further strengthen our position.”
With the recent acquisitions of Escaux and its spin-off, Fuzer, in Belgium, together with OZMO cloud communications, Destiny is continuing to work on its local and European ambitions to become the European virtual and independent operator. It now has more than 220 employees, 70 of which are in the Netherlands, more than 13,000 business customers and revised predicted turnover of 65 million euros for 2019, 20 million of which is accounted for by the Netherlands.
All employees are being fully integrated into Destiny. By the end of this year, the brands DSD, Motto and OZMO will be subsumed into one brand.
“OZMO has been working closely with Motto Communications and DSD Business Internet for more than five years now. Partly for that reason, the takeover was an obvious next step, so we could continue to grow OZMO,” explains Gijs Van der Heijden, director of OZMO. “For me, the overwhelming feeling is one of pride. Over the past ten years we have built up a wonderful, strong company with our staff and partners. This takeover is actually a reward for what we have achieved. Together with Destiny we can continue to grow and serve our partners and customers even better.”
